Györgyi Bela (pronouns: she her hers), MSc in Economics, PhD in Environmental Sciences. She is committed to designing participatory processes and citizen science activities to link research with social needs. Currently, she is working on development of a citizen observatory web platform and she is coordinating some citizen sensing and DIY science initiatives in Hungary. She is a vice chair of the AlterNET research network. She is currently member of the Task Force on Capacity Building of the Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and a lead author of ECA Assessment of IPBES.
